Vivaldi 23.5 is an original concerto by Julien Labro, inspired by the Earth’s 23.5-degree axial tilt—the force that shapes our seasons. Rather than arranging or quoting Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, the work reflects on seasonal transformation through a contemporary musical language, with the accordion as a solo voice within a full symphonic context.
Commissioned and premiered by the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, Vivaldi 23.5 is conceived as a major concert work designed to anchor a full orchestral program.
Instrumentation: Accordion soloist with full symphony orchestra
